Hidden Meadows Wedding: Chris & Christie

We had the pleasure of getting to know Chris and Christie during their epic engagement session in Cannon Beach in September, so getting ready for their big day was very exciting as it felt like we were going to spend a day with friends. Their December wedding day was gorgeous, a day we actually saw the sun! We had a great plan for indoor pictures at the hotel should it rain or be too cold but it was a happy surprise that we were able to do all of the bridal party photos outside, a rare treat in the winter! We started the day in Redmond for photos of getting ready and group photos before heading to their church ceremony…

Love Dad’s reaction to seeing his daughter for the first time!

Aaron and I usually split up for getting ready photos, I go with the bride, he with the groom so the photos of the groom and groomsmen getting ready are generally a surprise when I edit. These were especially hilarious as apparently they had to hit the hotel gym to get really pumped up for seeing Christie and the bridesmaids? Work it boys!

Blue skies in December, are you kidding me??

The hotel had some great interior areas (not always the case I find!) and I particularly loved this snowflake wall – perfect for a winter wedding!

I always enjoy seeing the different emotions and nerves that come out during the ceremony.:)

The photos we got at Hidden Meadows (in the dark freezing cold btw) are some of my favorite of the couple. So gorgeous!

Their black & white with a splash of red theme was perfect for a pre-holidays wedding. Elegant and romantic all rolled into one.

It also happened to be the bride’s grandmother’s birthday – I thought it was so special that they honored that with a surprise cupcake and candle, very sweet!

The dance floor was packed most of the night! The photo booth was a great addition to the reception as well. This first photo was one of my favorites. Their faces left to right are saying, “Say what?”, “I don’t think so”, “Oh hell no”, CRAZY! So hilarious!

Baby with a moustache? Yes please. Congratulations Chris and Christie! Let’s meet up for that drink soon!

Pioneer Square Engagement: Allison & Lawrence

I was already excited for Allison and Lawrence’s April wedding in downtown Seattle, but I’m even MORE excited for their wedding after their Pioneer Square engagement session. The day was brisk but we had a wonderful time getting to know each other a little more – these two are so very easy to talk to and even better, they are so comfortable with each other. It makes my job as photographer so easy and so fun to see their interactions and love for each other. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek you two! Four months to go!

Tri-Cities Wedding: Jacqueline & Jesse

Jacqueline and Jesse were married on a hot, hot end of summer day in the Tri-Cities. Thankfully both the church and reception had air conditioning:)so we hardly noticed the heat. The day was full of excitement, happiness and the bride’s infectious grin. She beamed the entire day, it was hard to look at her and not want to smile as well. These two are a great duo and have amazing families and friends that we were so happy to hang out with throughout the day. Here’s a sneak peek of their day…

I love seeing what kids do during ceremonies. They are not always quite as riveted as the couple!

They had a gorgeous bridal party!

This is their version of the “Step-Brothers” movie. Love it!

Such a gorgeous bride

They had some great toasts by bridal party and parents alike. How cute is grandma ringing the bell to make them kiss??

The bride’s sister (and maid-of-honor) performed a flash mob style dance as part of her speech. Amazing!

Very cute bride and groom favors full of tasty treats!

No wedding is complete with a sombrero wearing guest, right?

And that gorgeous Tri-Cities sunset. Congratulations Jesse and Jacqueline!!

Orcas Island Wedding: Mike & Meagan

Mike and Meagan were married at the Inn at Ship Bay on Orcas Island, a gorgeous venue right on the water. This was my first visit to Orcas Island, and after this experience, I am ready to go back anytime! The island is laid-back and mellow and this couple definitely incorporated that vibe into their wedding day. Everyone was so relaxed, happy and enjoying the moments throughout the entire day, it made for an incredibly enjoyable day of shooting. We were lucky to get a gorgeous sunny summer day, something I feel has been rare this summer for a lot of my weddings, so we felt so lucky to get such gorgeous light throughout the day and an amazing sunset to end the evening. We started the day with the gorgeous bride and her sister as they were getting ready at the inn…

This is one of the best reactions to seeing a bride in her dress that I have seen in awhile!

The bride has the CUTEST niece and nephews who all took part in the wedding as flower girl and ring bearers.

Keepin’ it real and playin’ it cool

The ceremony took place in this small grove of trees with a gorgeous flower covered arch and paper lanterns in the trees. Made for a beautiful backdrop to their heartfelt ceremony.

There were so many beautiful natural backdrops around the grounds and gorgeous sun kissed light, it made portrait time a dream.

Did I mention all the cute kids that were at this wedding? I am always a sucker for pictures of kids!

The bride made these adorable veggie tongue depressors to signify which guests would be getting a vegetarian meal. How original!

The bay made for a stunning backdrop to their first dance. Can all first dances be like this?

This group was ready to throw down on the dance floor – once the music started it was packed non-stop, my favorite!

These two had a hilarious dance-off!

Congratulations Mike and Meagan! I hope your first month as newlyweds has been amazing!

Alyssa and Aaron… No one could have captured the magic of our day better than you guys. You truly did an amazing job and we are so grateful. Thanks for coming all the way to Orcas and for taking wonderful pictures that we will cherish forever. Meagan and Mike
